Summary:
We are looking for a qualified Physician Assistant SME to instruct in Physician Assistant education based on current class size and number of iterations to include performing didactic and clinical education, assisting the program staff in executing curriculum development and delivery for the Physician Assistant programs of instruction. Services include performing didactic, field, and clinical education, assisting the program staff in executing curriculum development and delivery for the 68W10 Program of Instruction at Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) and the 300-F1, Combat Paramedic at the MEDCoE Campus.
This position is located in Fort Sam Houston, TX.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist in development and updating instructional materials.
- Conduct classroom and laboratory instruction.
- Provide SME support to Computer-/Web-Based Training (CBT/WBT) instructional designers and programmers developing interactive multimedia.
- Provide SME/scientific technical support that is technically accurate, insightful, and creative; contribute to technical scientific discussions in a manner that is positive contribution to group/teamwork.
- Perform course administrative functions including maintaining student and course administrative records, organizing training materials, and identifying supply needs.
- Perform typical laboratory training logistics activities.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Demonstrated expertise in a specific medical specialty or subspecialty (e.g., cardiology, emergency medicine, dermatology, etc.).
- Proven experience in medical content development, education, or training.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based medicine and clinical practice guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly and effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for content creation and communication.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active affiliation with NAEMT and a training background in Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TC3).
- Complete a Workplace Occupational Health Assessment with a licensed medical and/or occupational health provider within 30 days of start date.
- Served in current theater of operations (For example: CENTCOM, AFRICOM) and/or served in a medical role I or II assignment totaling at least 24 months and this requirement is only applicable to PA, M.D., and D.
- A background check will be conducted.
- Possess the ability to pass a NACI background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Special Operations Forces (SOF) and critical care background (active-duty assignments, training, deployments).
- Possess previous experience as instructors (one year minimum) or graduates of the TCMC course.
- Common Faculty Development - Instructor Course (CFD-IC)
- Common Faculty Development - Developer Course. (CFD-DC)
- Cadre Training Course (CTC)
- METC Instructor Orientation (MIF)
- METC Instructor Certification (MIC) is required to include providing proof of training, degree, and a signed DD Form 2982.
- Complete technical qualifications, supervised teaching, and three evaluations as directed by the MIC process and TR 350-18, TR 350-70, and the AR 600 series
