Provides comprehensive, direct services to adult, adolescent, and child psychiatric and chemical dependency patients and their families. This includes assessment of physical and psychiatric functioning and pharmacological interventions in inpatient hospital location, in addition to partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient program locations.
- Provide psychiatric evaluations and assessments along with follow-up visits to patients and their families
- Have expertise in clinical psychopharmacology, as well as holistic/integrative/ complementary & alternative medicine (CAM) treatment modalities, for children, adolescents, and adults
- Work on integrated healthcare teams to provide a holistic approach to healthcare coordination
- Clinical coverage expected from a team-based approach for outpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs
- Oriented, educated, and sensitive to gender, cultural differences, and age appropriate care
- Build an outpatient and/or partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient program/bridging clinic patient caseload. Assist with administrative duties in addition to clinical expectations
- Manage up to 12+ patients a week as part of IOP/PHP programs, in addition to maintaining an outpatient panel
- Conduct and lead daily morning rounds with the team of social workers, therapists, and support staff
- Attend census rounds twice per week in addition to the daily patient rounds
- Proficient in interpersonal communication skills with support staff, clinical staff, clients and their families.

- Empower patients and families by teaching self-care practices for healthier lifestyles that directly impact mental health (diet, exercise, sleep, stress management, electronics use, vitamins/ supplements, etc.)
- Assist individuals and families with managing stress, finding healthy and natural alternatives and preventing disease by improving health and well-being
- Willingness to teach and learn with other PrairieCare staff about the comprehensive integrative healthcare model
- Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS), Master of Clinical Medical Science (MCMSc) or equivalent Master degree from an ARC-PA accredited institution.
- Licensure from NCCPA at time of application or within 90 days of graduation from an ARC-PA accredited institution. If already licensed, the license must be current, unrestricted and without previous restriction.
- DEA licensure eligible. Unrestricted DEA required if already licensed.
- Previous experience in Psychiatry, Healthcare, Psychology or work with under privileged/ impoverished/rural populations preferred.
- Preference given to candidates who have successfully performed and completed internal rotations or internships at Brooklyn Park Hospital or other PCMG Regional Site.
- Have completed in-person clinical preceptorship.
- Computer skills with Microsoft Office Products including Outlook and Word required.
- Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation, and complete documentation within 24 hours of patient encounter
- Strong skills in case management, time management, written and oral communications
- Maintain information as highly confidential
- Demonstrate the ability to treat all age populations consistent with licensure or have the capacity to develop these skills
- Must have ability to manage a variety of clinical obligations in timely manner.
- Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks.
- Able to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations, make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances, and after training, be able to manage disruptive and explosive patients.
