Job description

Corewell Health is seeking a Adult Blood and Marrow Transplant Physician in Grand Rapids, MI. The selected candidate will join a well-established, FACT accredited transplant and cellular therapy program! Offered treatments include Allo, and Auto transplants, and CAR T therapy. A strong background in transplant and malignant hematology is preferred, but new graduates will also be considered. Responsibilities will include rounding on the BMT service. The BMT unit is an 18-bed unit located at Butterworth hospital on Corewell Health's (formerly Spectrum Health's) well known "Medical Mile." Multidisciplinary rounds include APPs, pharmacy, nurses, care managers, dietitian, and physical therapy! Responsibilities also include seeing patients in a team-based approach with the APPs in the clinic, located at LH cancer pavilion. The call schedule will include call one week at a time, rotating every 4 week/weekend. Calls are shared with APPs and our hospitalist team providing onsite coverage 24/7.
Essential Functions

  • Assesses the medical needs of patients/significant others.
  • Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
  • Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
  • Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
  • Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
  • Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
  • Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.
  • Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.
    Actively works with Spectrum Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.

Qualifications
  • Required Doctorate

  • LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
  • LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required
