- Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA is responsible to organize, and conduct Physical Therapy programs planned and overseen by the Physical Therapist to facilitate rehabilitation of those residents who have experienced a decrease in functions.
- Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA will assist in planning, organizing, developing and implementing Physical Therapy services under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, to ensure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
- Performs treatment programs for assigned residents
- Enter billing information in an accurate and timely manner
- Report resident progress in meetings, i.e. UR Meeting, Patient/Family Conference as deemed required or appropriate
- Consult with other members of the rehabilitation team to coordinate Physical Therapy with other therapeutic activities
- Provide residents with equipment as appropriate
- Chart notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the therapy provided to the residents, as well as the resident’s response to the therapy
- Perform routine documentation as required and in accordance with our established charting and documentation policies and procedures. Sign and date all entries made in residents’ medical record.
- Cooperate with all departments and staff facilitating harmonious working conditions to promote optimal resident care
- Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy Assistant, PTA
- Licensed in NY State as a Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA; license in good standing
- Previous skilled nursing facility (SNF) experience highly proffered
- Work well under pressure & willing to work harmoniously with all staff
- Sincere desire to work with the elderly, chronically ill, and handicapped
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to communicate well verbally with residents, families and staff
- Treat residents and fellow staff with respect, dignity, and compassion
- Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but NOT MANDATED; we continue to offer COVID-19 vaccination based on eligibility guidance from CDC
