Job Description
Rockford Pain Management is a busy multidisciplinary medical clinic which services an adult patient base suffering from acute and chronic pain. Our clinic has a large volume of older patients with conditions such as knee arthritis, spinal pain, and balance/coordination issues secondary to neuropathy. However, even though our patient demographic is skewed to 60+, we are a full-service Physical Therapy provider and have a current staff of a lead physical therapist and 2 Physical Therapy Assistants. As a licensed PTAs, you would independently care out the therapy plan as directed by the physical therapist. The clinic also employs a neurologist, pain management physician, and a chiropractor. Many cases will be co-managed by multiple providers, including the physical therapist. We believe this team approach to care is a vital part of the care of the patient.
Physical Therapy Assistant Job Responsibilities:
- Promotes and maintains health by providing Physical Therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist.
- Contributes to a physical therapist’s effectiveness by identifying patient care issues.
- Administers treatment programs for patients.
- Assesses patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining updating, and studying therapy histories.
- Evaluates abnormal conditions by reviewing physical therapist’s interpretations of patient evaluations and test results.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities.
- Helps patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
- Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Work Hours & Benefits:
The clinic operates from 8 AM to 6 PM Monday through Thursday and 8 AM to 1 PM on Friday. This is a salaried position for 40 hours/week. Medical insurance, paid vacation, sick days, continuing education, and malpractice insurance are provided.
