Full time Physical Therapy Assistant - All Care

Position Summary:
Has the responsibility of meeting total rehabilitation needs of patients; maintaining quality care in compliance with the referring physician’s order and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) guidelines; assist the physical therapist in carrying out complex procedures; perform procedures in accordance with planned programs; transport, position and drape patient; observe, record and report to the physical therapist any conditions or reactions related to assignments. Performs routine cleaning tasks as necessary.
Performance Responsibilities:
· Treats patients as referred by the physician, following the plan of care established and/or approved by the physical therapist.
· Record patient’s progress in chart and through oral report to the physical therapist as needed.
· Assist the physical therapist as needed.
· Order and store supplies and linen.
· Confers and reports any discrepancies and/or changes in the patient’s condition, problem, and plan of care, and/or progress to the physical therapist.
· Participate in the provision of learning experiences for physical therapist assistant students necessary to meet the objectives of their clinical rotation.
· Complies with safety, hazardous materials, universal precautions and infection control policies.
· Coordinates Physical Therapy objectives with nursing services, if appropriate.
· Maintains a working knowledge of all clerical duties.
· May provide services to home health patients as necessary.
· May perform other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
· Graduate of an approved school for Physical Therapy Assistants.
· Ability to read and write English.
· One- or two-years’ experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, however, new graduates will be considered.
· Licensed to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the State.
· Knowledge of Physical Therapy procedures.
· Ability to learn new procedures and techniques.
· Above average Interpersonal skills and effective communication.
· Must be able to follow instructions and relate to staff and patients.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Requires full range of body motion, including but not limited to sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, stooping, squatting, twisting, climbing, stretching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Must be able to manage patients with or without additional manual or mechanical assistance.
- Corrected vision to normal range, bilateral hand and finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and full communication skills.
- Frequently works under stressful conditions.
- Works in environmentally controlled areas.
- May be exposed to communicable disease, blood, or body fluid, viral and bacterial contaminate and chemical hazards common to a Physical Therapy practice.
- May drive personal vehicle occasionally during working hours.

Salary: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
