As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you set the tone for patient care improvement. Under the policy guidelines and the direction of the Clinical Manager, you will provide an overall positive patient experience. You'll treat your patients with a focus on the whole person - physically, mentally, and spiritually. With care and compassion, you'll implement rehab processes, ensure accurate documentation, follow home health care regulations, and more. REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program from an accredited school
- Successful completion of national Physical Therapy Assistant examination
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant, home health experience preferred
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order
- Current Missouri professional licensure to practice
- Current Kansas professional licensure to practice
- Current CPR Certification required
- Organized, flexible and able to communicate effectively; both verbally and in writing
OBJECTIVES
- Provides direct Physical Therapy according to directions of a qualified physical therapist and in accordance with the plan of care and within the scope of the Physical Therapy Practice Act.
- Treats patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
- Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training.
- Utilizes physical agents, including, but not be limited to heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.
- Observes and reports to the physical therapist and the Organization personnel the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in patient's condition.
- Instructs patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.
- Maintains necessary records; clinical notes and conference notes, which will be incorporated into the patient's clinical record in prescribed time frames.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team and Organization In-service Education Program.
- Participates in the quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.

Through those many years, our nurses have been known for the highest level of skill that continues today in our home health medical and specialty teams, and now with our 2021 SHP Premier Performer Hospice Team.
