The Physical Therapist I provides physical therapy services to individuals and their families in a team relationship with other health care providers in a setting that is designated by the department. Responsibilities:

The Physical Therapist I provides physical therapy services to individuals and their families in a team relationship with other health care providers in a setting that is designated by the department.
A day in the life of a Physical Therapist I at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Performs all functions associated with the evaluation of patients for all age groups within the department's responsibility.
- Performs all functions associated with the execution of therapeutic treatment for all age groups within the department's responsibility.
- Completes all documentation required within the regarded timeline according to department.
- Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.) This process includes communicating with the patient, parent and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Graduation from an accredited physical therapy school.
- Minimum of 0 -2 years' experience.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Physical Therapist License.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
- LSVT (PT, OT, ST)
- Neurologic Clinical Specialist (PT)
- Certified Neuro Specialist (OT, PT)
- NDT Certified (OT, PT)
- Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist (OT, PT

Working Conditions:
- Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 100 lbs. and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
