Job description

We are seeking a LOCAL talented and experienced Photographer to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio showcasing their ability to capture captivating images across various genres, such as portrait, landscape, event, and commercial photography. The Photographer will be responsible for producing high-quality visual content that aligns with our brand identity and meets the specific needs of our clients or projects.

Schedule: Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Photography and Composition:
  • Utilize advanced photography techniques, including lighting, framing, and composition, to produce visually compelling images.
  • Execute creative concepts while maintaining a strong understanding of the desired message and aesthetic.
  • Work with a variety of subjects and settings, adapting photographic techniques accordingly.
  • Equipment and Technical Proficiency:
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of various types of camera equipment, lenses, and accessories, and effectively choose the right tools for different scenarios.
  • Ensure proper setup and maintenance of photography equipment, troubleshooting technical issues as they arise.
  • Photo Editing and Post-Production:
  • Edit and retouch photos using industry-standard software to enhance quality, color, and composition.
  • Manage post-production workflow efficiently, maintaining a consistent and timely delivery of final images to clients or relevant departments.
  • Client Interaction:
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their specific photography needs and objectives.
  • Provide professional guidance and creative input during pre-shoot consultations, ensuring a clear vision for the final product.
  • Project Management:
  • Organize and schedule photoshoots, considering factors like location, weather, lighting conditions, and subject availability.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
  • Creative Direction:
  • Contribute innovative ideas and concepts for photoshoots that align with project goals and brand identity.
  • Collaborate with other team members, such as art directors and stylists, to achieve cohesive and visually appealing results.
  • Portfolio Development:
  • Continue to evolve and enhance your personal portfolio by staying updated on the latest photography trends and techniques.
  • Seek opportunities to experiment with new styles and approaches, while maintaining a consistent quality in your work.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must be local to the Fairbanks, Alaska area.
  • Bachelor's degree in Photography, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a professional photographer, with a diverse portfolio showcasing proficiency in various photography genres.
  • Proficiency in using photography equipment, including DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, and related accessories.
  • Expertise in photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom) and post-production techniques.
  • Strong understanding of lighting techniques and their impact on photography.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different environments and subjects, including potential travel for on-location shoots.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
