We value our employees and are seeking an experienced full-time Phone Triage Coordinator for our busy practice.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Triage incoming calls efficiently using protocols and screening tools specified by the provider. Incoming and outgoing calls include but are not limited to requests for mammogram orders, lab orders, prescription refills, patient education and results.
- Return all patient calls according to urgency and document all calls and actions taken into EMR.
- Managing Prescription requests in Medical Management software.
- Complete FMLA paperwork for patients.
- Complete refill requests from pharmacies received via fax or portal messaging.
- Coverage for the second Triage Coordinator when out for vacation/sick days causing a higher volume of calls for those days.
- First contact for the phlebotomist when a patient needs assistance.
- Consistently observe the patient's right to privacy, confidentiality, and safety.
- Treat patients with courtesy and respect at all times.
- Adequate knowledge of clinic procedures
- Maintain quality control standards
- Practice standard infection control precautions
- Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changes and alternatives that contribute to improvements in the quality of patient care.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Accredited high school graduate or GED equivalent
- Medical Assistant certification or LVN license
- Basic computer literacy
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Demonstrate leadership and self-direction
- Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year experience as a Medical Assistant
- Experience working in an OB/GYN setting
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
