Job Summary:
The primary instructor is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing educational or training programs to ensure that students or participants achieve their learning objectives. This role involves creating a positive and engaging learning environment, providing instruction, and assessing the progress and performance of learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Design and develop lesson plans, courses, or training programs in accordance with established curriculum standards and learning objectives.
Instruction: Deliver engaging and effective instruction to students or participants, using a variety of teaching methods and materials.
Assessment: Evaluate student or participant progress through assignments, exams, projects, and other assessment methods. Provide constructive feedback to support their learning.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom or training environment. Address behavioral issues and create a conducive space for learning.
Individual Support: Offer individualized support and guidance to students or participants who may be struggling with the material.
Resource Management: Manage educational resources, such as textbooks, teaching aids, and technology, to enhance the learning experience.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student or participant attendance, performance, and assessment results.
Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest teaching methods, educational trends, and any relevant certifications or licenses.
Communication: Maintain effective communication with students or participants, colleagues, and parents or guardians (in the case of primary education).
Qualifications:
- 3 years experience with Blood Draws
- Teaching certification or credentials (if required).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and the ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
- Knowledge of educational technology and tools.
- Experience in curriculum development and instruction.
Education and / or Experiences: Phlebotomy Certification
Working Conditions:
- Works throughout the nursing service area (resident rooms, drug rooms, nurses’ stations, etc.) when in the clinical setting
- Moves intermittently during working hours
- Is subject to frequent interruptions
- Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies / personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances when in the clinical setting
- Communications with the medical staff, nursing services, and other department directors when in the clinical setting
- Attends and participates in continuing education programs
- Works beyond normal duty hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary
- Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminates
- Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses
- May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals
Physical & Sensory Requirements:
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to speak and write the English Language in an understandable manner
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with trainees, personnel, and support agencies
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies
- Must be able to push, pull, move and / or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and / or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of trainees during emergency situations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
