Position Summary
Assists Pharmacist in filling and dispensing prescriptions for customers. Assists customers at counter, retrieves prescriptions, rings up customers. Orders and stocks drugs, supplies, and over-the-counter merchandise. Updates patient records and inventory, processes invoices, and makes accounting entries using computerized system.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
Assists Pharmacist in updating patient profile and entering prescription information into the pharmacy computer to extent allowable by State law. Preserves patient confidentiality. Answers phones and provides prompt and courteous member service including answering questions at pharmacy window, directing members to product location.
Morning stocking for pharmacy related over the counter products in the general warehouse.
Assists Pharmacist in filling prescriptions by bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, re-stocking, labeling, and pricing prescriptions under direct Pharmacist’s supervision. Prepares third-party insurance claims, to the extent allowable by State law.
Orders, receives, tags, and stocks prescription drugs and supplies. Follows product storage procedures and standards.
Cleans department by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, and dusting. Empties trash and operates trash compactor and cardboard baler. Follows security and safety procedures, including securing department by appropriately storing or disposing of confidential documents and by using proper disposal methods for immunization supplies and hazardous waste.
Assists customer at counter, receives written prescriptions for Pharmacist, and retrieves filled prescriptions. Rings up orders. Receives payment, makes change, processes checks, credit and debit charges.
Orders, receives, tags, and stocks over-the-counter product in accordance with merchandising plan for department. Creates product signs.
Processes invoices and makes accounting entries using computerized system.
Ensures proper cleanup, disposal and returns of hazardous materials. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery

Experience, skills, education & licenses/certifications
Required:
High School Diploma or GED required.
State, National, or NACDS technical training or Pharmacy Technician license as required by State. Nationally certified technician and licensed with the State.
Must be current on annual safety training within 30 days of hire.
Recommended:
High School Diploma or GED
Pharmacy experience preferred.
Computer, math, insurance billing, and customer service skills preferred.
