Job Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the Pharmacist, responsible for preparing medications to be dispensed to patients, maintaining a clean and clutter free work environment, assist in records management and filing, assist in inventory ordering, stocking and inventory control, maintains positive relationship with customers and other departments.

Education Background and Experience
Minimum Education:
Completed Certified Pharmacy Technician Program
Required Licensure / Certifications:
Washington State Certified Pharmacy Technician
Required Experience:
Basic computer knowledge and current knowledge of hospital pharmacy regulations as applicable to the job.

Essential Job Functions
HOSPITAL/INPATIENT:
- Responsible for running daily Pyxis inventory reports, procuring the corresponding medications and filling Pyxis machines
- Maintains records of all inventory received or dispensed from pharmacy in electronic inventory management program
- Reviews and approves previous days’ medication charges
- Purchases unit dose medication whenever possible
- Maintains billing statements, records and credits
- Removes outdates monthly from assigned department
- Repackage medication into unit dose packaging under the supervision of the Pharmacist
- Prepare Emergency Department Pre-Packs for Pharmacist approval
RETAIL/OUTPATIENT
- Responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
- Prepare new and refill prescriptions for Pharmacist review including but not limited to order entry, insurance adjudication, medication procurement from stock, filling and labeling
- Reports, immediately, prescription errors to pharmacist on duty
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with filling prescriptions, insurance adjudication and communication when an issue with a prescription arises
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services
- Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience
- Takes customer to OTC aisle when possible to assist in locating products
- Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians
- Interact with medical office staff to gather pertinent information about prescriptions that require a resolution of issues that arise
- Prioritize Pharmacy Department tasks and follow through to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Including but not limited to inventory management and will-calls to customers
- Assist in maintaining the will call prescriptions at a date of 14 days or less
- Responsible and accountable for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collects and handles cash as required

Compensation/How We Care For You
Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range ($20.96 - $24.69/hour) dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation increment increases annually.
Full-time benefitted - (60-80 hours per two week pay period).
Part-time benefitted - (40-59 hours per two week pay period).
