This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Pharmacy Services or any delegated staff pharmacists with the following tasks: medical writing and data analysis for ongoing research, creating materials or literature for presentation purposes, developing software programs or files designed to assist in facilitating pharmacy functions, and performance improvement activities as directed by the pharmacy manager.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is required
• Currently enrolled in pharmacy school and in good standing
• Registration as a pharmacy intern with the Texas Board of Pharmacy is required
• Laboratory or healthcare experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Recognizes patients' rights and responsibilities and supports them in the performance of job duties; respects patient's rights to privacy and confidentiality.
• Accurately maintains all legally required records.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Maintains department facilities, equipment, and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff.
• Analyze, interpret, and evaluate data.
• Draft literature and expound upon findings from trial data.
• Perform any job related research as necessary.
• Create professional slides used for presentation purposes.
• Format handouts to be used for employee instruction or professional presentations.
• Assist in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word projects.
• Present to staff as necessary on current guidelines, regulations, or clinical literature.
• Report regularly to director of pharmacy services and ensure that tasks are completed in a timely manner.
• Completes paperwork and computer related duties.
• Shares knowledge gained with other staff members and works as a team member.
• Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.
