Pharmacy Technician - Per Diem
Arkansas Continued Care Hospital
Jonesboro, AR

Description: As a Per Diem, nonexempt Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.
Schedule: There is not a regular set schedule for this position. This position will work "as needed," to help cover staff PTO and sick days.
About the facility: Arkansas Continued Care Hospital is accredited by CIHQ (Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality) and is a 44 bed long term acute care hospital, with an average daily census of roughly 30 patients. This hospital is designed for critically ill patients requiring a longer hospital stay, and is specifically licensed and administered to provide care for patients who require daily physician and staff attention for complex conditions. The pharmacy currently utilizes Health Care Systems (HCS) and Omnicell dispensing cabinets.
About the Pharmacy: The Pharmacy utilizes CPOE, EMAR and Pyxis. The Pharmacy is open M-F 7:00am - 3:00pm.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Recent experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy
  • Arkansas Pharmacy Technician License in good standing
  • Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
  • Effective communications skills; verbal and written

Hospital Requirements (may be required):
  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Hepatitis B3 Series or declination
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
  • COVID vaccine
