Summary: This role will function as a Patient Care Technician under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist to assist in the preparation of all components used in the management and routine follow-up of home infusion patients and specialty pharmacy patients.
Reports to: Pharmacy Manager and Patient Care Technician Lead
Titles Supervised: None
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED required. A current, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of practice, and Pharmacy Technician certification required.
Experience: Two years' experience in a pharmacy setting preferred. Specialty pharmacy experience preferred. Must be proficient in computer skills, including MS Office.
Functional Competencies: Written and verbal communication, prioritization, attention to detail, organization, time management, follow-up, decision making, initiative.

- Assist pharmacist with patient follow-up related to refills, IV catheter care, inhalation, inotropes, specialty medication, MEDI-pack and other therapies. Assist in medication/flush order entry. Coordinate prior insurance authorizations and payment arrangements.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance, pick-up and returns.
- Assist in prep room staging and inventory management. Manage delivery tickets.
- Collaborate with Compliance on related accreditations, audits, testing, reporting etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
