Support Clinical Team Efforts:
- Collaborate with prescribers and beneficiaries to ensure appropriate, evidence-based drug selection.
- Resolve medication-related problems.
Medication Therapy Management Services:
- Triage inbound calls to the MTM hotline.
- Monitor fax line for prescriber responses and completion of failed faxes.
- Assist pharmacists in completing Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMRs) and Targeted Medication Reviews (TMRs) through pre-work up and case preparation.
- Communicate with network pharmacies, prescribers, and beneficiaries to provide MTM services.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Document services/activities in designated databases/software to ensure compliance with CMS requirements.
- Participate in drug utilization review (DUR) initiatives, including meeting preparation, letter campaigns, and telephonic outreach.
Data Analysis and Audit Support:
- Support basic data analytic activities and track interventions.
- Assist in preparing and documenting responses to regulatory audits.
Operational Support:
- Participate in MTM Call Center operational meetings and training sessions.
- Provide timely MTM services under pharmacist oversight.
- Handle inbound and outbound calls with providers, physicians' offices, and pharmacies.
Beneficiary Engagement:
- Contact beneficiaries to explain the MTM program and schedule pharmacist interviews.
- Perform quarterly follow-ups with beneficiaries as needed.
- Screen inbound calls and voicemail messages, determining appropriate actions and escalating calls when necessary.
- Ensure first call resolution and effectively assess beneficiary needs and concerns.
- Request additional help as needed.
- Perform other various duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor(s)
Minimum (Required): (must be met in order to perform the job at the required level)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certified Pharmacy Technician certification
Preferred: (if above and beyond the minimum required)
- Previous customer service experience in a Pharmacy Benefit Management or health care environment
- Previous customer service experience
- Pharmacy Technician certification
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Physical Demands: May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day. May sit or stand six (6) to eight (8) hours per day. It may be necessary to work extended hours as needed. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear normal voice sounds. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this role.
