Check us out online: www.nychealthandhospitals.org careers.nychhc.org Docs4nyc.org Job Description Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, performs work of a Pharmacy Technician, in accordance with Article 137 of the Education Law, specifically Article137-A, which details the tasks permitted for a licensed Pharmacy Technician and an unlicensed Pharmacy Technician.
Ensures patient safety, optimal utilization of resources, service delivery and compliance with NYC Health + Hospitals, health care setting, and all other relevant regulatory policies and standards of care to improve outcomes and patient experience. Validates patient identity and screens prescriptions for completeness, formulary/restriction and payment status, prior to processing. Receives written or electronically transmitted prescriptions, types prescription labels and affixes labels on containers.
Accurately keys and retrieves prescription data from a computer-generated file for review by a pharmacist. Obtains drugs from stock and returns them to stock. Minimum Qualifications Effective April 25, 2021, all new hires into the title of Pharmacy Technician must be licensed to practice as a Registered Pharmacy Technician by the NYSED.
