Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Establishes, acquires, and maintains contracts with extern sites using the approved college agreement; maintains accurate extern site information database, including contact information and specific contractual agreement termination and expiration dates, and initiates renewal process timely.
- Collects and maintains appropriate documentation related to externship education, such as health forms, CPR certification, student evaluations, and site evaluations.
- Assists the Director, Career Services to maintain program accreditation, especially as related to meeting standards for externship education.
- Attends Advisory and Faculty meetings to network and derive solutions to mutual concerns.
- Maintains on-going contact with local employers to obtain information on externship opportunities. Researches and develops new externship sites with new employers. Develops and enhances working relationships, facilitates student employment opportunities, and ensures positive long-term relationships with employers.
- License & Certification: ACC Externship Coordinator, Pharmacy Technician:
- California licensure or registration to practice as a pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician is required.
- Must hold an active membership in a national pharmacy organization and the corresponding state affiliate.
- Two (2) to three (3) years of experience working with or in extern sites, placing students, and coordinating related documents is preferred.
