Pharmacist completing this PGY2 SOT Pharmacy Residency Program will be competent practitioners of direct patient care in Solid Organ Transplant environment. In collaboration with the health care team, the PGY2 Solid Organ Transplant resident will provide comprehensive medication management to transplant patients following a consistent patient care process. They will be accountable for achieving optimal drug therapy outcomes in adult and pediatric transplant patients in the inpatient and ambulatory clinic setting. The PGY2 SOT Resident will develop and exercise skills in educating other health care providers and patients. The PGY2 SOT Resident will provide effective medication and practice-related education to solid organ transplant patients, caregivers, and health care providers. They will develop leadership and management skills by taking an active role in medication safety efforts and quality improvement efforts. The resident will complete a research project during this year with the intention to publish and/or present results at pharmacy or transplant meeting/journal. The resident will demonstrate professional maturity by exhibiting a commitment to the profession, and developing a mechanism for personal life-long learning. Furthermore, upon completion of this program, graduates will be positioned to sit for the advanced practice Board Certification exam in Solid Organ Transplantation (BCTXP). The PGY2 Transplant resident will report to the PGY2 Solid Organ Transplant Residency Program Director. 1 year contract Annual Salary: $62,500

Qualifications

· Graduation from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree or possess a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). * Pharmacist Licensure or Intern Pharmacist Licensure (for out of state applicants) in the State of California PRIOR to the beginning of the residency. PGY1 and PGY2 Pharmacy Residents are required to obtain pharmacist licensure from the California State Board of Pharmacy by the end of the first 90 days of the respective residency program start date. * Completion of ASHP accredited PGY1 residency · ACLS certification from the American Heart Association ideally within the first month of residency program start but no later than September of the residency year. · Successful completion of the pre-employment process, including but not limited to verification of all required licenses and certifications, meeting the U.S. Office of Inspector General requirements and proof of a legal right to work in the United States. · Successful completion of a post-offer physical exam, which includes a drug and alcohol screen, a physical and a TB test. · For the safety and well-being of the university community, the University of California requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before physically accessing the University's Locations and Programs.
