Position Statement:

Operations Manager will promote the acquisition and retention of patients for the pharmacies and other health related entities through implementing and coordinating management, administrative and operational activities, so patient expectations and the company’s financial and strategic objectives are met. Operations Manager holds primary responsibility for managing the day-to-day activities of direct reports and for the overall financial success of the pharmacies/entities. This responsibility includes reaching sales targets, managing expenses, staff and inventory levels, and motivating managers and staff to reach their targets or goals. Operations manager reports directly to the business owner.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

· Will be responsible for the operation of all pharmacies and other health related entities, to include but not limited to customer service, expense control, gross margin, inventory control, staffing/recruiting, training, and development.

· Ensures that entities, pharmacists, and staff comply with all federal, state, and local laws as well as standards pertaining to the pharmacy/entity.

· Keep abreast of new items, changing laws, regulations, and new pharmacy-related programs through participation in continuing education courses and reviewing pharmacy-related literature, and communicate this information to management and staff.

· Generate growth ideas for the pharmacy business – compounding, specialty, retail, and long-term care opportunities.

· Mentor pharmacy managers on financial reports and responsibilities.

· Interview, hire and develop future pharmacy managers/leaders, as well as staff.

· Organize and conduct pharmacists/staff meetings.

· Create, maintain, and manage against a Policy and Procedure Manual that will contain all the systemic processes put in place by the company.

· Create positon agreements for each position, assist in the design of performance-based bonus plan(s), and oversee manager/staff performance evaluations.

· Ensure the staff is trained on Policies and Procedures and understands their tasks, authorities, and roles. Maintain and hold staff accountable for their actions. Even though the duties may be delegated, the authority and responsibility for all functions and activities are the Operations Manager’s responsibility.

· Become subject matter expert on pharmacy information systems (Pioneer), be able to train and hold accountable other users, and utilize fully other software/tools paid by the company to assist with operations.

· Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.

· Willing to work a flexible schedule. Travel required within radius of pharmacies/entities.

Key Qualifications:

· Pharmacy or other healthcare related experience.

· Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field.

· Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a leadership role.

· Organized, with a strong attention to detail.

· Strong oral and written communication.

· A self-starter who is willing to start a project and see it through to the end.

· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build a team environment.
