Job Description:
Baptist Health is in search of a Pharmacy Equipment and Facilities Engineer to join our team at the Central Pharmacy in LaGrange, KY.
  • Performs a variety of general maintenance tasks including preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on a variety of equipment.
  • Uses lean practices to drive increased usage of the building automation system. Provides leadership and direction to facility support department managers for the cost effective and efficient use of energy.
  • Able to identify and resolve problems ensuring compliance with safety and environmental rules.
  • Develops and implements a reliable alerting of all critical functions, such as: Temperatures and Humidity, Device and Equipment Pressurizations.
  • Collaborates with the pharmacy team to ensure consistent operation of all Pharmacy Equipment and automations.
  • Assists with ensuring day-to-day operations of department take precedence and are uninterrupted.
  • Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards, and national patient safety goals.
  • Acts as a resource to pharmacy leadership at CPSC, outside architects, engineers and contractors in regard to the design, development and execution of any facilities related projects.
  • Assists with designing, integrating, implementing, monitoring, reporting and upgrading various systems ensuring integration into the automation system.
  • Able to use various computer-based systems.
  • Maintains inventory control levels of supplies needed to operate/maintain different equipment.
  • Provides leadership in management of contracted service agreements.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures to facility ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements of The Kentucky State Board of Health, Kentucky Pharmacy State Board, Federal Agencies, ACHC, URAC,OSHA, Office of the Inspector General, Department of Building Housing and Construction, and other standards and regulations.
  • Performs risk assessment and infection control risk assessment.
  • Assists with site inspections and audits.
  • Routinely performs scheduled testing, equipment calibrations, and repairs of devices / systems.
  • Provides guidance to co-workers in assessment, engineering skills, and problem solving and networks with preceptors of new staff to facilitate orientation.
  • Recommends facility improvement strategies.
  • Works with pharmacy leadership team for financial and capital budget planning for identified projects.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Industrial /Biomedical or related fields preferred), or certification as a Certified Facility Manager (CFM) and minimum of 3 years of job-related experience.
  • 5 - 7 years of related work experience required in lieu of a degree.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Knowledge in NEC, NFPA, KBC, BOCA, ASME, ASHRAE, OSHA, & KPC is preferred.
