Our Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a team member who is passionate about serving our community of patients and will enjoy working for a busy Community Health Center in Yakima! Some technical requirements for this position are:

  • Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a B.S degree in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy, Washington State licensure, and at least five years’ experience in an ambulatory clinic or hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of 340b drug program desired.
  • Management and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Candidate must also have the ability to speak clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction.
  • Convenient if bilingual English/Spanish, and or ability to sign.

Day to Day:

  • Supervise and help train pharmacists, ancillary staff, externs, residents, and pharmacy students.
  • Lead pharmacy quality assurance activities to improve patient service and responsiveness to patient needs.
  • Identify and participate in integration efforts where pharmacy can improve quality measures for YNHS patients.
  • Participate in other QA as directed by Chief Medical Officer, COO, and administrative staff.
  • Develop and implement business practices of YNHS pharmacies.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee 340b drug program monitoring and compliance, including oversight of contract pharmacies.
  • Manage required licensing for Health Care Entities.
  • Dispensing legend and non-legend medications for YNHS patients and other YNHS – contracted sites.
  • Provide drug information to patients, nurses, physicians trainees and other employees by using available resources and references.
  • Order and maintain medication stock
  • Work closely with finance staff to oversee Point of Sale and insurance relationships.
  • Work with supervisors and administrative staff to address organization-wide issues, including program development, training needs, safety concerns and quality assurance indicators.
  • Make recommendations and/or decisions for improvement based on the impact to the organization, rather than any single department.
  • Maintain organized, clean, efficient and confidential work area.
  • Represent YNHS in meetings as requested.
  • Perform related work and other tasks as requested
