SalaryA Pharmacy Clerk provides clerical services and support in a pharmacy. Daily tasks will include answering phones, greeting customers in person, record keeping, file maintenance, typing, packaging prescription orders, running a register, and helping maintain general cleanliness and order in the pharmacy. On occasion, the clerk will need to make deliveries to nursing homes and assisted living centers around Lawton.
The Pharmacy Clerk we are looking for is self-motivated and hard working in order to work effectively as a team member. We have a very fast-paced work environment and it is necessary to stay calm under pressure and manage stress in a healthy way. Attention to detail is an essential skill required to work in a pharmacy to keep our customers safe. Friendliness and a positive, helpful attitude are important to successfully interact with customers, and co-workers, alike. We need someone with great people skills who will communicate well with customers, staff, and other healthcare professionals, while offering professional courtesy, to provide our customers with the most efficient and compassionate health care possible. A clerk will be required to defer to supervisory staff in many situations, to ensure that we are following the laws that govern pharmacy practice.
We need someone with flexible availability. We are open Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. The person we hire needs to be available to work at any time during the hours we are open.
