Job Summary:
The Department of Pharmacology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine Anschutz Medical Campus (https://medschool.cuanschutz.edu/pharmacology) is seeking applicants to fill tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level in the area ofNeuroscience. The research of the applicant should emphasize molecular, cellular or circuit mechanisms that are broadly related to understanding the nervous system or associated diseases, actions of existing drugs, or the development of new drugs or therapies to treat neurological or neuropsychiatric disorders. We especially seek applicants whose research would complement our existing strengths in neuropharmacology studying regulation of neuronal circuits, synaptic plasticity, neurotransmitter receptors, ion channels, cell adhesion molecules, signal transduction, and gene expression in control of neuronal function in learning and memory, neurodegeneration, addiction, ischemic brain injury, intellectual disability, schizophrenia, and autism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possess a strong dedication to neuroscience research in the candidate's respective field
- Engage in research at a high level that will result in establishing and/or maintaining an independent research program
- Obtain or continue to maintain competitively funded extramural grant support
- Be academically productive and maintain a high level of publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Participate as a research mentor for graduate students in the CU Pharmacology Graduate Program and/or CU Neuroscience Graduate Program
- Participate in didactic education in courses offered by the CU Pharmacology Graduate Program and/or CU Neuroscience Graduate Program

This is an Open Rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Minimum qualifications (Assistant Professor):
- PhD and/or MD degree
- Academic peer-reviewed publication record in the broad area of neuroscience
Minimum qualifications (Associate Professor & Professor):
- PhD and/or MD degree
- Academic peer-reviewed publication record in the broad area of neuroscience
- Track record of competitively funded grant support
Preferred qualifications (Assistant Professor):
- Demonstrated excellence, originality and productivity in research
- A goal to establish and/or maintain independent research program competitively funded by extramural grant support
- Excellent communication and time management skills
Preferred qualifications (Associate Professor & Professor):
- Demonstrated excellence, originality and productivity in research
- Senior corresponding author academic peer-reviewed publications within the broad area of neuroscience
- Teaching experience at the graduate and/or undergraduate level
- Mentorship experience for trainees (undergraduate, graduate or postdoctoral trainees)
- Excellent communication and time management skills

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
Assistant Professor: $125,000 - $140,000
Associate Professor: $140,000 - $160,000
Professor: $160,000 - $165,000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
