Pharmacist - Per Diem

Under supervision of the pharmacy manager, the incumbent shall provide the full range of distributive, clinical, consultative, research, and/or administrative pharmaceutical services in an ambulatory care setting. The staff pharmacist shall also perform other related duties as required and assigned by the pharmacy manager including, but not limited to prescribing under clinic protocol, monitoring the use of selected classed of medications , participating in clinic conferences, orienting clinic professionals regarding pharmaceutical services, and precepting pharmacy students. Incumbents typically select, purchase, compound dispense, and assure proper storage of medications and other therapeutic agents consistent with organizational policies and procedures, community standards of practice, and state and federal regulations .
The incumbent shall perform the duties of a California licensed pharmacist including, but not limited to: the oversight of dispensing prescriptions, providing consulting information to patients, maintaining records for state and federal agencies, ordering drugs and other duties as may be deemed necessary to the function of SHS Pharmacy.

Required/Preferred
Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy.
Required
Possession of the legal requirements to practice pharmacy as determined by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
Required
Possession of a Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certificate.
Required
Possession of current BLS certification.
Required
Possession of current Blood Borne Pathogen Training certification.
Required
Working knowledge of state and federal regulations relating to the practice of pharmacy.
Required
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and professional staff.

Ability to perform multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to prioritize work that reflects the needs of the clinic's patients.

Registered with CURES Program with access.

Ability to locate and interpret drug information resources including, but not limited to scientific and professional journals, compendia and internet references and provide timely responses to prescriber and patient inquiries.
