Responsibility Requirements:
- Holds the verbal and written communication skills necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of a Long term care.
- Capability to understand patient medical management plans/insurances.
- Comprehensive knowledge of pathologies and common disease states.
- Must be able to excerpt related information from the patient or other sources and relate it to the medical management plan.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environment and able to prioritize work flow.
- Knowledge in medical terminology as related to drug usage.
- Understanding of laws, regulations and standards relative to Retail Pharmacy practice and prescription dispensing.
- Proven proficiency in techniques of sterile manufacturing, and pharmaceutical calculations.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, doctors, and medical offices.
- Capability to apply current pharmacological and biopharmaceutical ideologies.
- Capability to learn and adapt to the use of automated information systems in daily practice.
- Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing; walking, bending; reaching, pushing & pulling, of materials up to 30 pounds for distances to 10 feet.
- Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices including: telephones, fire alarms, and mechanical failure alarms.
- Enough mobility to contact patients, other customers and access equipment.
- Ability to read information on medication labels.
- Able to travel to amongst locations if coverage needed.
- Hazardous drug and investigational biologic drugs preparation and handling.
Skills
- Proven experience as a pharmacist
- Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands etc.
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office and Pharmacy information systems (Dital RX prefered)
- Good organizing skills
- Excellent communication skills with a customer oriented approach
- Integrity and compassion
- Current pharmacy licensure in the State of California
