Are you looking to practice pharmacy in a community setting where you can spend time with patients?

Meyer Pharmacy in Waverly, IA is looking for a full-time clinically minded community pharmacist. If you desire to practice as part of a collaborative team and apply a diverse set of skills, our community setting is right for you. On any given day, you will be practicing along side multiple pharmacists and performing a wide variety of job functions from providing quality assurance on prescription fulfillment to testing patients for upper respiratory disease and prescribing antibiotics. This is not a monotonous position.

Meyer Pharmacy has a history of adopting programs that innovate the practice of pharmacy and we are committed to this advancement. As part of the Community Pharmacy Enhance Services Network (CPESN), we have payer contracts that provide payment for clinical services and not solely dispensing medication. Our pharmacists divide and conquer on our clinical programs and this position would participate in those responsibilities. Bonus incentives exist for clinical performance. The position would include one clinical/project day per week where you would have minimal prescription fulfillment responsibilities.

Current clinical programs include:

• Immunization programs
• Blood pressure monitoring
• Payer program that requires monthly follow up with eligible patients
• Annual comprehensive medication reviews
• Occasional participation in clinical studies
• Precepting pharmacy students
• Achieving patient adherence goals including special packaging
• Point of care testing and treatment for influenza/COVID19/strep
• Medical billing for pharmacist provided services
• MTM and CMR opportunities

Our workplace environment is a very important attribute to this position. We provide adequate staffing and a midday lunch break along with reasonable hours and appropriate spaces for clinical programs.

In addition to our community pharmacy practice, we provide pharmacy services to long term care facilities and are a full line medical equipment supplier with respiratory therapists on staff.

The position is for an 80% full time employee which would be 4 days per week and every 4th weekend. There is a rotating on call schedule for nights/weekends/holidays.

Skills and Experience:

• PharmD
• Active pharmacy license in the State of Iowa, with all held licenses in good standing
• Strong commitment to customer service and willing to provide clinical services, such as immunizations and health screenings
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Desire and willingness to actively engage patients
