Personal Injury Paralegal

Silva Santos, PC has an immediate opening for Paralegal for the Personal Injury Department. We are looking for a Paralegal to undertake a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. The goal is to sustain efficiency of all office procedures and case management to guarantee reliability and consistency. The compensation is based on experience.

Duties:

• Client Communication: Meeting with clients and keeping them informed of their case status.
• Legal Work: Draft Notice of Rep /Preservation Letter; Obtaining police reports; Draft Medical Record Request; Create/Update Medical Record/Bills Chart; Complete PIP Application; Coordinating lost wage claims; Coordinating property damage claims; Coordinating benefits with PIP/Health Ins; Obtain PIP Exhaust and send to providers; Obtain treatment status updates and Verify last DOS; Opening Medicare claims; Reviewing medical records and bills; Draft Medical Record Summary; Request/Collect liens; Preparing demand letters; Drafting settlement breakdown and closing letters to clients; Create Invoice; Draft Complaint; Draft Discovery; Draft Motions; Draft Depo Subpeona; Draft Mediation Memo; Draft Pre-Trial Memo and Draft Trial Binders.
• Case Management: Assist attorneys in all phases of Personal Injury litigation, from case inception to resolution. Scan, save and organize documents to the firm's Document Management System. Update case status track important court dates and deadlines. Schedule and coordinate depositions, hearings, and trials. Organize and maintain case files, including electronic filing systems.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience using Microsoft Office including Word and Excel Strong writing skills, attention to detail and telephone skills
• Dependability and professionalism
• Ability to work both independently and with others
• Great interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with individuals of diverse backgrounds
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
