Summary 

 

The purpose of the NM Permitting Field Coordinator is to oversee and manage the permit process to ensure timely submission by the Vendors for Pole Owner, City, County, DOT & RR Level. The NM Permitting Field Coordinator accomplishes this by working closely with project teams and Permitting agencies to proactively identify requirements and potential roadblocks and facilitating resolutions so projects remain on schedule. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the permit process end to end to ensure timely and accurate processing of our permits. This encompasses permit application, acceptance, and make-ready engineering through permit acceptance.
  • Oversees permit/license applications by vendors for City, County, TX Dot & RR Level
  • Helps coordinate logistics of permit delivery to City or County
  • Develops and maintains relationships with all permitting agencies and project teams
  • Work across multiple fiber expansion projects to ensure permits are in place to meet the construction schedule.
  • Proficient with accurate data entry and interpretation in our permit database.
  • Fundamental understanding and implementation of FCC and State PUC rules regarding pole attachments
  • Fundamental understanding of NESC code requirements regarding communication designs
  • Fundamental understanding of communication design maps and files
  • Attends meetings with Permitting Authorities locally in New Mexico
  • Performs field surveys and meetings with Permit Authorities and Construction Crews as necessary for complex permitting projects
  • Submits and manages the timelines of all local permits
  • Coordinates design modifications with Engineering Firms based on the complexity and cost of permitting.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Knowledgeable with the telecommunications industry and its practices.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Skills and ability to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing to convey complex concepts clearly and logically.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills, including the capacity to identify, assess, and prioritize competing interests and needs.
  • Proven ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity, and rapid change.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and establish facts. Ability to interpret various information from co-workers with different experience levels. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various reports and contracts.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Some accounting skills are a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, vendors, and management.
  • Basic working knowledge of computers, including Windows 10, Microsoft applications, and e-mail.
  • Excellent phone and writing skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while paying attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma - Required 
  • Minimum of 3 years permitting or related telecommunications experience
  • Proven stability & related experience preferred

Requirements: 

  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check
