This position is an exempt position at pay grade 209.
Attendance
Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Overview
The Permit Supervisor will be responsible for the daily operations of the permitting team. The Supervisor will research, review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and procedures.
Responsibilities
• Monitor the daily workload of the permitting team
• Ensure all walk-in, call-in, electronic and other customer needs are met in a timely and correct manner
• Responds and resolves internal and external customer complaints when Senior Permit Technician is unable to resolve
• Act as second approver for customer complaint solutions
• Serves as the liaison between Development Services and other City Departments as needed
• Create reports and queries to manage information flows and provide management with actionable information for process improvement
• Develops and implements personalized training, with assistance from supervisors, for direct reporting team members with the goal of improving efficiency, accuracy, effectiveness, and overall customer service skills
• Acts as first in line to waive, adjust, or cancel fees as needed
• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Requires an Associate's Degree (AA/ AS); or two (2) year technical certificate
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience; must include one (1) to two (2) years in a supervisory role
• A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered
• ICC Permit Technician within six (6) months of hire
• IC Zoning Inspector within twelve (12) months of hire
• ICC Property Maintenance/ Housing Inspector within eighteen (18) months of hire
• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
