Perioperative Coordinator - Urology Surgery Service Line - Full Time/Days
SUMMARY: This position is accountable for serving as a consultant in the care of peri-operative patients. The incumbent provides patient, family, and staff education; leadership in identifying and reviewing nursing clinical practice and procedures, equipment and processes that will enhance clinical operations and patient care outcomes. Serves as a patient and family advocate.
The PediatricPerioperative Department at Valley Children's is a robust division,incorporating many procedural areas and their associated support services.Periop supports every Service Line within a healthcare system providing care topatients within the Central Valley and its surrounding areas, collaboratingwith outlying facilities to accomplish the mission of the organization toprovide the best care to our patients, always.
With 12Operating Rooms, you will work closelywith surgeons or proceduralists, anesthesiologists, and other specialtytechnicians in order to provide care to patients. You will work within a teamto set up for procedures, ensure safety and quality during surgery, and meetthe goals of providing the best care possible to our patient population in anexciting OR environment. Surgical services offered in the OR at ValleyChildren's include Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Ear,Nose, & Throat Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, General & GI Surgery,Urology, Robotic Assisted Surgery, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, OphthalmicSurgery, and Dental Surgery.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited nursing program required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred, Active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN), Minimum 3 years full time or equivalent recent OR and/or Urology and/or pediatrics experience required. Certified Nurse of the Operating Room (CNOR) preferred. Bilingual skills desirable.
Life Support Certifications Required: 1) BLS HeartCode required within 30 days of hire or transfer into position, 2) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 12 months of hire or transfer into position, 3) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 12 months of hire or transfer into position
POSITION DETAILS: Full Time, 80 hours per pay period, call is required and shared on rotation among staff.
PAY RANGE: $43.50 - $66.00
