This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the management of the Middle School auditorium and High School performing arts center, as the Performing Arts Facilities Coordinator. The Performing Arts
Facilities Coordinator will participate in and supervise the operations of the high school and middle school auditoriums by setting up, programming, and operating audio, lighting, presentation, and technical theater systems. The Performing Arts Facilities Coordinator will serve as the facility planner and technical supervisor for internal and external clients, to maximize the use of the space and ensure the safety and proper maintenance and operation of all equipment. S/he will also manage front of house operations during productions and events. In addition, s/he will advise and consult with school and community users on possibilities for enhancing their events, and select, train, and supervise students working as theater technicians during school events. The person in this role may be asked to fill other audio/video needs within the school district including setup of portable PA systems, troubleshooting installed systems, and live-streaming special events.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3:00pm-10:00pm and weekends
Qualifications: This position requires a minimum of two (2) years of post-secondary training in theater management, theater arts, or related field and a minimum of three (3) years of directly-related experience. CPR and First Aid Certification is required within six (6) months of hire. A valid MN driver's license and evidence of mobility are also required.
Compensation: This is a twelve-month position with a competitive salary plus an excellent benefits package pursuant to the Community Education Supervisors and Coordinators (Grade 16) terms and conditions of employment.
