Position Summary
City of Hope is seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our exceptional team in the Endoscopy Department. As a Clinical Nurse, you will be an integral part of a specialized team that performs a wide range of endoscopic procedures critical to diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. This opportunity is for Per Diem, with a minimum of 1 shift per week availability required. The position is for 10-hour shifts and designated for the day shift. The Per Diem flat rate for this position is $72.605/hr and is also eligible for a unit differential of $2.23/hr.

As a successful candidate, you will:
- Endoscopic Procedure Assistance: Provide expert nursing care and support during various endoscopic procedures, including but not limited to Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), bronchoscopies, colonoscopies, cystoscopies, laparoscopies, laryngoscopies, mediastinoscopies, thoracoscopies, and upper endoscopy.
- Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' well-being by ensuring their safety, comfort, and understanding of the procedures. Monitor vital signs, administer medications as necessary, and provide emotional support throughout the process.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, anesthesiologists, and technologists, to ensure seamless patient care and the highest standards of clinical excellence.
- Infection Control: Implement and adhere to strict infection control protocols to maintain a sterile and safe environment for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete medical records, documenting the patient's condition, medications administered, and any complications during or after the procedure.
- Education: Stay current on the latest advancements in endoscopy and nursing practices, and provide education to patients and their families regarding pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Nursing is required. If ADN only, must obtain BSN within three years of hire or transfer.
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience in an acute care setting and/or outpatient setting
- Requirement of 1-year perioperative experience or a formal Perioperative nursing specialty course completed prior to application or within 6 months of hire or transfer.
- Current California RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association
- ACLS through American Heart Association
- PALS through American Heart Association
