Peoplesoft System Administrator IV
Remote Within WA, OR, UT or ID
Primary Job Purpose
The Peoplesoft SystemsAdministrator IV participates in a team environment for the installation, upgrades, testing and maintenance of new and existing computer systems, operating system, and/or software applications. This position provides technical, interpersonal and administrative skills in performing day to day work.
General Functions and Outcomes
  • Provides leadership and mentoring to other team members.
  • Uses crossover knowledge into other technical disciplines, which facilitate the understanding, coordination and communication between technical areas.
  • Adapts to new technology and methodologies.
  • Focuses on the operational activities that ensure maximum availability and reliability of the supported platform/technology.
  • Directs and takes actions to ensure maximum systems availability.
  • Maintains and supports Mutiple Infrastructure environments including but not limited to Server (UNIX, Linux, MS Server,VMWare) Unified Communcations (Exchange, Teams), Web/Platform Infrastructure (Weblogic, Apache, Tomcat, OpenESB, MQ, IIS, SSL Cert, IBM Websphere, etc..), Network (Cisco, F5, Palo Alto, Aruba), Desktop (Windows, Mac OS X), Database (Oracle, MS SQL, and Security Provisioning (Control SA & Sailpoint) .
  • Provides administration and support documentation for the technologies listed above.
  • Researches and solves highly complex software issues and collaborates with vendors and other support teams in regards to product or Infrastructure problems. Expected duties include but are not limited to hardware installation and configuration; operating system and support software installation, upgrade, and patches; performance tuning; and documentation.
  • Provides support and coordination in the effective administration of computing systems and support software
  • Uses common system maintenance tools, without assistance. (Examples: ICMP-Ping & Tracert, Sniffer, Solarwinds Orion, NetScout, HP Openview, Tivoli, Big Brother, HMC, IIS, HMC, Shell Script, Introscope, winSCP, NPAM/Zenman, WireShark, Xming, VNC Server, VirtualBox, Putty, VMWare Controller, Magic Disk, Irfanview, NMap, TCPDump, LVM, RSync, Yum preferred).
  • Installs and configures computing systems and/or support software in support of business processes and objectives.
  • Provides administration and support documentation.
  • Researches and solves highly complex software issues and collaborates with vendors and other support teams in regards to product or Infrastructure problems. Expected duties include but are not limited to hardware installation and configuration; operating system and support software installation, upgrade, and patches; performance tuning; and documentation.
  • Adheres to technical, and architecture standards, production implementation standards, regular status reporting, regular team participation, providing work estimates, and regular time tracking.
  • Submits analysis and recommendations for software development, enhancement, replacement or purchase. This individual may lead project teams based on experience and knowledge.
  • Additional responsibilities include administering the integration of licensed and/or in-house developed applications and writing programs and/or scripting to integrate with other systems.
  • Leads the research and estimating of proposed work.
  • Responsible for initiating process and system improvements and monitoring industry trends.
  • Provides support and coordination in the effective administration of computing systems and support software.
  • Provides technical training to team or Business partners through training sessions.
  • Acts as a consultant to manage, configure, implement, monitor, identify, diagnose, resolve problems and perform analysis in relation to the integrated IT environment and software.
  • Demonstrates knowledge in networked computing structure and architecture.
  • Prepares and/or directs program, system, operational and User documentation.
  • Prepares individual work plans and reports activities, tasks, milestones, deliverables, schedules, and status reports, as appropriate.
  • Works as an active team member for joint success of a project, taking responsibility, and providing timely updates for, assigned action items and deliverables.
  • May be required to maintain professional working relationships with vendors.
  • Uses common system maintenance tools, without assistance.

Minimum Requirements
  • Experience with Peoplesoft 9.2, and stay within a year on updates
  • Experience with infrastructure management techniques such as change management, problem management, release management, configuration management and/or system lifecycle. ITIL Certification/Experience preferred.
  • Ability to automate tasks and document them for others to use.
  • Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve system performance problems or outages.
  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technologies and methodologies and apply them to technological and/or business needs.
  • Must be able to provide direction to others in analyzing and solving program and system issues and problems.
  • Must be able to plan and manage his/her own work, as well as that of others.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with coworkers and all levels of management both verbally and written.
  • Experience supporting the following technologies in at least three of the seven areas below. Certifications in any of these areas a plus (CCNA, MCSC, CISSP, etc.); Network (Switches, Routers, Cabling, Load Balancers, and Firewalls); server (Unix, Linux, MS Server, & VMWare); unified Communications (Exchange & Teams); web/Platform Infrastructure (Weblogic, OpenESB, Websphere, GlassFish, IIS, MQ, JCAPS); Database (Oracle, MS SQL); security Provisioning (Control SA & Sailpoint); desktop (Windows, Macintosh, MS SCCM)
  • Ability to train and support Tier I, II, and III functions for the technologies listed above.
  • Possess strong skills in understanding the appropriate environments for assigned applications.
  • Must possess strong customer service skills.
  • Must have a highly proficient understanding of design, implementation and sustainment activities of Information Technology systems.
  • Must have a strong understanding of the MS and/or UNIX environment including common suites and core business applications.
  • Possess strong skills in understanding the appropriate environments for assigned applications.
  • Ability to develop efficient and effective program and system solutions in solving light to medium complex business problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to upgrade hardware operating system software and third party software.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and document medium to large product upgrades.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead Disaster Recovery team, including scripting and testing for operating systems, third party software and storage recovery.
  • Experience in project management techniques and the ability to lead projects to a timely successful outcome
  • Experience in understanding/translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Must have strong ability to project/forecast time allocation for project completion.

Normally to be proficient in the competencies listed above
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field and seven years experience in the implementation, operations, development, support and maintenance of IT systems and/or administration of Software functions in multi-platform and multi-system environments or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Environment
  • Duties are performed primarily in an office environment.
  • May require travel for meetings or conferences.
  • Participates in on-call and off-hours work as necessary.

The expected hiring range for a Peoplesoft System Administrator IV is $109,700-$148,400 depending on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure / certifications; performance history; and work location. The bonus target for this position is %15 . The current full salary range for this role is $103,000-$168,000
