The Westin Tempe seeks a Part TimePeople & Culture coordinator to conduct day-to-day operations of the department which includes assisting with human resources functions, the onboarding process, and various coordination tasks with guidance from Director of People & Culture. What will you be doing?

  • Create and maintain filing systems.
  • Create and type office correspondence using a computer.
  • Upload documents into HR system as needed.
  • Answer phone calls and emails.
  • Assist walk-in associates with People & Culture questions, requests, and concerns from employees and management regarding company.
  • Maintain space designated for completing applications and onboarding and ensure it is clean, well maintained, and accessible to individuals with disabilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of employee and property records, files, and information.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of all employee records and files (e.g., interview documents, I-9's).
  • Assist with background checks, recruiting, hiring process, employee events, employee engagement, and other tasks as assigned.

What experience do you need?
  • Must have the ability to communicate in English.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Working knowledge of Federal and local regulations relating to OSHA and worker's compensation is nice to have.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources practices and procedures as well as considerable knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources matters.
  • Ability to effectively deal with associates and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, resolve conflicts and collect accurate information.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and consistency in all matters.
