Department Overview
The cybersecurity organization at Motorola Solutions protects our company and helps to create secure products that our customers can rely on. The Red Team is an essential part of this program and is responsible for conducting offensive cybersecurity operations on both infrastructure and products. The team provides expert analysis and enables Motorola Solutions to deliver secure operational environments for our customers. Job Description
Offensive security fills a critical role within a cybersecurity program - the last defense to find flaws before a system goes live and an opportunity to out-compete attackers looking for creative ways to cause harm. As a Penetration Tester in our Red Team, you will have the opportunity to apply your cybersecurity skills and experiences to mission-critical products and services, profoundly impacting our company’s cybersecurity posture. You will be part of a diverse international Red Team that values creativity, growth, and development in both personal and technical areas. You will work with all areas of the company to establish meaningful relationships, drive cybersecurity culture, and directly influence the way Motorola Solutions continually strives to Solve for Safer. This position has less than 10% travel and can be fully remote.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include the following:
Assist in the planning and execution of penetration tests
Documentation and report writing
Data, code, and vulnerability analysis
Tool and script development
Research and Training
General Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Effective collaboration and team integration
Strong problem-solving abilities through imaginative and creative thinking
Self-identify tasks, start work independently and adapt quickly to ad-hoc tasks
Maintain an insatiable curiosity and an aggressive outsider mindset
Technical Skills:
Some familiarity with penetration testing and compliance standards
An understanding of security monitoring assessments, Mitre ATT&CK and Red vs. Blue and Purple teaming
A good understanding of Windows/Linux-based operating systems and networking
Familiarity with cloud computing models, technologies, and concepts
Skills with some of the following: Bash, PowerShell, Python, Go, Assembly, C/C++, C#, JavaScript, Java
The ability to perform penetration testing activities on one or more of the following, Web Applications, Cloud Infrastructure, IT Infrastructure, Mobile and Embedded Operating Systems, and Applications
Additional Qualified Skills:
The ability to execute and complete a penetration test independently
Qualifications/Certifications:
Certifications from one or more of the following are desired: Offensive Security, Global Information Assurance Certification(GIAC), or other "hands on" industry certifications, or the ability to pass OSCP within 6 months of hire
Candidates can reside anywhere in the US.

Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of experience in information security or a technical role and 1+ years of active hands-on experience in performing penetration tests/ethical hacking as a primary responsibility.
OR military service and 1+ years of experience in information security or a technical role and 1+ years of active hands-on experience in performing penetration tests/ethical hacking as a primary responsibility
OR 4+ years of work experience with 1+ years of experience in information security or a technical role and 1+ years of active hands-on experience in performing penetration tests/ethical hacking as a primary responsibility
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
