Position Purpose:
The Peer Support Specialist will participate as a team member in the delivery of treatment services to clients and their families and facilitate the issues of recovery into their daily living situations. Provide program services in an ethical, legal and moral manner within a safe and therapeutic environment, consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED is required
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Agency insurance requirements
- Lived experience with Substance Use/Recovery and Mental Health Services
- Will need to complete Recovery Coaching and Peer Support Specialist modules within 6 months of hire date
Qualifications:
- Self-Starter with ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Able to engage with and establish rapport with individuals seeking mental health services
- Computer proficiency required.
- Ability to navigate and document in electronic healthcare records required.
- Ability to accurately complete required documentation within the time frames
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist clients engaged in or seeking to be engaged in treatment services and community resources, by providing support and education through a peer perspective.
- Work closely with the case manager to link client to needed resources in the community and motivate the client to follow through with appointments.
- Provide education and support to clients specific to symptom management and coping skills.
- May facilitate focal group discussion sessions on co-occurring issues with clients.
- Attend all scheduled meetings of staff, such as treatment plan reviews, shift meetings or appropriate committee meetings as designated.
- Ensure that client service records are maintained consistent with rules and regulations.
- Serve as a member of the assigned team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
- Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the professional code of conduct and within the framework of the law.
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours)
Pay: Based on education, experience and credentials
- Starting pay HS/GED - $15.43/hr
- Starting pay Associates - $16.37/hr
- Starting pay Bachelors - $17.25/hr
- Additional $.50/hr with certification

Schedule:
- Monday – Thursday: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM & Friday: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
