We are looking for an individual who has gone through the process of recovery and is passionate about helping others do the same. Our Peer Support Specialist will work in groups, individually, or in smaller teams to provide support and mentorship. Certification is not a must, but preferred; Winds of Change in Missoula is willing to provide certification if applicable. One key requirement for the position is having experienced a severe and disabling mental illness (SDMI) or co-occurring disorder, and being willing to share that experience.Compensation:
$17.5 hourly
Responsibilities:- Transport clients to appointments
- Leading recovery-based group activities
- Evaluate and assess barriers that affect independent living or community living
- Address communication skills
- Identify and implement symptom management skills
- Develop social support systems
- Adapt skills for home, work, education, vocation, leisure, and social activities
- Provide immediate crisis intervention
- Complete assigned training (in person and /or through a computer learning program)
- Complete documentation daily
- Maintain productivity standards
- Covering Group home shifts as needed. This will include day, evening, and overnight shifts
- Schedule and attend meetings as required
- Ability to maintain regular attendance
- Must be 18 years of age or older (State requirement for licensing)
- Must have current driver’s license, transportation, and automobile insurance coverage
- Follow HIPAA and maintain confidentiality
