Our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) is an innovative approach to treatment designed to treat the whole person through a comprehensive range of services, including mental health and substance use disorder services.
We are currently looking for part-time and full-time Peer Specialists to join our newly formed EAST Haven Crisis Stabilization Center located at 463 William, Buffalo, NY to provide emotional support and assistance to our clients.
Responsibilities includes:
- Provide guidance and support to family members and collateral contacts
- Utilize intervention techniques to de-escalate crisis situations
- Assist in developing service plans, safety plans, and discharge plans
- Conduct follow-up calls according to program policies
- Document provisions of service appropriately
Qualifications:
- Must have lived experience in mental health
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must have an OMH Peer Certification
- Must have a valid NYS driver license
- Knowledge/familiarity of the mental health and social service systems and an understanding of client rights
- Ability to work effectively in a wide range of settings with people from diverse background
- Comfortable working one-on-one and in group settings
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and able to adapt to changing situations

Salary $17.95 - $20.51/hour
