Pediatric Respite RN | PRN

Under the direction of PedsCare Manager, the in-home respite nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care to the patient in their home, and to include initial and ongoing assessment of patient needs, symptom management and care, with appropriate and ordered interventions completed.
Position Details

• PRN Status: Available to work a minimum of four (4) days/shifts a month; no on-call
• Shift Length: Usually 4-8 hours each
• Locations: Primarily Duval County (may include Nassau, Baker, Clay, or St. Johns)
• Compensation: Base Salary $35/hr + Mileage

Job Responsibilities

• Follows Plan of Care and Medication Administration as ordered by the physician, to include nursing interventions, medication administration and treatments, bathing, transferring, feeding, teaching, death/discharge process.
• Completes documentation in the home, specific to the care, interventions performed, and medications administered, hourly and as needed throughout the care provided. Documentation will include post-mortem care and destruction of medications at the time of death, if applicable.
• Communicates with manager/director if any problems, complaints, concerns related to the patient/patient care/services.
• Adheres to all infection control and patient confidentiality policies and complaint process to the Florida Department of Health.

Education/Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would provide required skills and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

• Possession of a degree from a diploma nursing program, 2-year Associate Degree, or bachelor's degree in Nursing
• CPR certification; licensed as a State of Florida registered nurse
• Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience, ideally with two years of recent pediatric nursing

• Principles and practices of pediatric nursing
• Completing accurate physical assessments
• Ability to work within framework of varying patients' home environments and locations
