The SMILE Center is seeking a talented and passionate pediatric Physical Therapist to join our team supporting the development and well being of children who range in age from birth-10 years old.
You will work alongside our fantastic therapy team to implement treatment guided by children’s developmental needs, goals and interests. In our beautiful sensory gym, you will dream up exciting, rich games and play schemes that foster children’s curiosity and help them achieve key individual and age-appropriate milestones. Responsibilities:
- Lead planning and implementation of therapeutic activities tailored towards children’s developmental growth, based on IEP/IESP or IFSP goals if applicable.
- Engage with children in age-appropriate ways using enriching, positive language, loving care, and interactive play
- Ensure children’s health and safety at all times through close supervision and adherence to a robust set of daily protocols
- Proactively communicate with parents and other members of the staff regarding children’s development and growth
Qualifications:
- New York State PT registration
- At least 2 years of fully license pediatric PT experience (not include with your internship)
- ***No NYC DOE Employees***
- Training with Sensory Integration, NDT or/and DIR/Floortime a plus.
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain

We provide Occupational, Physical, Speech and Feeding therapies to children through a number of NYC based programs and privately. With strong fundamental roots in Neuro-Developmental Treatment, Sensory Integration & DIR®/Floortime, The clinicians of the SMILE Center utilize their resources and mentorship from nationally renowned clinicians to bring NYC something More Than a Sensory Gym®.
