Job Summary
The Dental Assistant is a vital position that supports the dentists, specialists, and hygiene teams in providing quality care. Principally responsible for maintaining a clean, safe environment and practicing sound infection control measures. Assists dentists with procedures, sets up and turns over rooms between treatments according to practice and OSHA guidelines. Engages patients in friendly conversation, provides comfort, and makes introductions to providers. Shares responsibility with the team for patient satisfaction and a high degree of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Work under the general supervision and guidance of the pediatric dentist
- Provide chair-side assistance to the Dentist during dental examinations and treatment
- Charting during the dental examination
- Take and process Radiographs
- Sterilize and maintain instruments, as well as the Sterilization Area
- Set up and break down operatories
- Maintain a high level of customer service at all times
- Maintain a clean and professional office environment
- Excellent communicator with staff, patients, and family
- Professional appearance and attitude
- X-Ray Certification: Meet all local and state requirements to operate radiography equipment
- Eagerness to learn and advance skills
- Able to multi-task and work independently and as a team
