MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in Manufacturing is required.
- Hands-on experience with SPC tools and advanced data analytical methods.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and improving issues involving quality and process consistency.
- Proven track record of meeting goals and timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to make good engineering judgments independently.
- Demonstrated communication skill experience with all levels of organization and across cultures.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- 6 sigma Green Belt (preferred).
- Hands on experience with chemical / physical material analysis and characterization.
- Experience leading projects using multiple engineering principles (mechanical, chemical, etc.)
- Demonstrated understanding of advanced analytical techniques applicable to Semiconductor manufacturing and raw materials.
- Demonstrate and validate expertise of both the technology and the continuous improvement process, including:
- Technology and process safety knowledge.
- Knowledge of key continuous improvement systems (Six Sigma, LEAN, IPS).
- Knowledge and adherence to the core Work Processes for the plant and improvement (ex. Continuous Improvement work process.

We are seeking for a PCS /Improvement Engineer for our Parlin, NJ
The successful candidate will serve as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical and organizational skills to drive the plant level continuous improvement program targeted at delivering maximum value from the assets, while continuously improving process safety and production efficiency. As the owner and driver of PCS, you will be working across the organization with Quality, Operation and R&D. You need to have full understanding of the PCS system. The PCS Leader will be HDM’s PCS Focal Point (PCSFP). The PCS focal point guides the site’s technical and operations staff in the application of Process Control Planning (PCP) concepts to foster a culture of continual improvement under the 6 Sigma methodology.
The PCS/Improvement Engineer leads projects and efforts to upgrade manufacturing processes and products that may range from incremental improvements to major technology changes. Strong emphasis will be on driving programs to improve the manufacturing processes by significantly reducing the product variability and enhancing the delivered product quality. Leads teams to understand and implement product/process design or process improvements to eliminate the root cause of quality problems. Strong emphasis will on commercialization of new products.
The PCS/ Improvement Engineer will review tools such as C&E, FMEA, and Control Charting through a cycle of learning in critical Process Modules to Drive PCS and implement the Advance Process Control Strategy for the business through training and coaching of the sites engineering staff on Advance Process Control and Big Data Analytical techniques.
PCS RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and develop PCS Procedure.
- Coordinate database and /or central storage of documents related to PCP in HDM.
- Ensure compliance with PCS Procedure and assure consistent methods across the unit (direct auditing and working with site Quality team).
- Ensure routine PCS reviews, and actively participate to help drive culture:
- Routine SPC / control chart reviews
- Periodic PCS element reviews (C&E, FMEA, MSA, Limits, OCAPs)
- Schedule and facilitate periodic PCS reviews such as.
- Periodic cross-site data review
- Routine leadership reviews for area PCS health (“directors review”)
- Assist in Customer Audits, Presentations, and Special Requests related to Process Control
- Conduct SPC and Data Analytics training for the site and related field teams (Sales/Field service engineers)
- Lead Basic SPC Training for Operators and train new Engineers (production, R&D, account team) in PCS Concepts
- Actively coach site personnel on 6-sigma, SPC and data analytical practices as the Subject Matter Expert on MSA/GRR, DOE, process change criteria, equipment matching, etc.
- Periodically assess PCS strategy and validate with business and functional leaders to update and improve strategy and approach within the operation.
- Build respect and trust of the operations team because of their great process technology knowledge and continuous improvement skill set (i.e., Six Sigma, LEAN, Advanced Process Control & Optimization programs).
