Job Description
The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is responsible for providing personalized assistance to individuals in their homes or in assisted living facilities. This position requires a compassionate individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The (PCA) will help clients with basic day-to-day activities and work to ensure that the client’s physical and emotional needs are met
Personal Care Assistant Duties and Responsibilities- Provide assistance with personal care activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Prepare meals, clean, and do laundry for clients
- Assist in transferring clients from bed to wheelchair, etc.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and recreational activities
- Document daily activities, changes in physical and mental condition, and any other relevant information
- Ensure that the client’s living environment is safe and secure
- Monitor vital signs and provide medication reminders
- Provide emotional support to clients and their families
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a caregiving role preferred
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be organized and able to multitask
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
