Payroll Tax Specialist - Remote

The Payroll Tax Specialist will be a “client-side” resource in charge of managing all tax related services to ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations and best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure clients are registered and licensed in all states they operate and assist with those as needed
• Research Payroll Tax variances and assist with tax reconciliation for clients
• Troubleshoot and assist in resolution of tax filing issues
• Assist team with tax laws, regulations and best practices
• Analyze customer tax requirements as team presents issues
• Perform quality audits on tax system configuration as requested
• Work with team and client to improve overall tax filing quality and customer experience.
• Develop and implement system, product or operational documentation regarding Payroll Tax solutions
• Meet and interact with the client project team regarding the priorities, timelines and issues/solutions as they arise
• Reconcile federal, state, and local Payroll Tax deposits and returns
• Provide service support to employees, other departments, and management

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• Expert knowledge of tax responsibilities and working with payroll outsourcers
• At least 5 years’ experience handling Payroll Taxes
• Prior experience working in a multi-client environment is required
• Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects while completing deadlines in an organized manner; demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication, interpersonal and client relationship skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
