Job Summary:
- Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Systems Analyst in our Corporate Payroll Operations department to develop, lead and manage tasks related to the implementation and maintenance of Payroll systems including Lawson Software, Infor WFM and WFS Time and Attendance systems.
- This includes learning how these systems operate, learning the policies and practices, testing and analyzing results, creating system and user documentation, provide go-live support to employees and troubleshoot issues.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as Payroll system support to drive improvement of payroll system functionality.
- Provide subject matter expert (SME) assistance to functional end-users, including knowledge transfer and troubleshooting time and attendance systems (T&A) issues.
- Explain and demonstrate various aspects of current and future system functionality. Assist with the review of new Lawson Software and T&A systems releases, fixes, and updates to determine applicability.
- Troubleshoot, test, and diagnose payroll system issues and advise on recommended solutions.
- Use analytic tools to test and verify the accuracy of payroll results, coordinating with appropriate staff for necessary corrections and adjustments.
- Serve as a payroll processing backup to Payroll Specialists to ensure proper payment of wages and salaries by using the in-house payroll system to correctly process salaries and reported hours worked, correctly utilize paid leave and holiday pay, correctly accrue compensatory time, and correctly compute overtime.
- Understand internal payroll processes and best practices and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Payroll Systems Analyst participates in the bi-weekly payroll close of the T&A systems.
- Independently and proactively provide system and go-live support to employees and end users.
- Develop and update system and user documentation including payroll department procedures and functional specifications for system changes or modifications ensuring documentation reflects current operations and procedures.
- Demonstrate skills in business requirements gathering, writing test case scenarios and testing of test cases, resolving and documenting functional issues, recommend solutions, and submit IT tickets.
- Ensure systems are configured and updated to reflect legislative, union contract, programs, PTO/Vacation, and pay changes.
- Lead project teams requiring the use of payroll/HR data.
- Create and run reports to ensure payroll data is accurate.
- Deliver exceptional Customer Service to customers both internal and external.
Minimum Qualifications (required):
- 4 or more years of experience in payroll, project management or closely related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. In lieu of the degree, 8 plus years of payroll experience or experience in a closely related field.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (desired):
- FPC or CPP Certification
- Experience working in a corporate payroll department
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems, including Lawson Software, Infor WFM, WFS, SAP SuccessFactors, and/or Kronos
- Project management experience

- This position is hybrid requiring two days per week in office and typical working hours are 8:00 - 4:30.
