Payroll Supervisor- Berwick, Pa

Wise Snacks is seeking a Payroll Supervisor in the Berwick, Pa area to support the delivery of payroll services. They will be responsible for supervising and supporting Payroll Specialists as well as coordinating efforts with other departments to ensure payroll processes smoothly.
Responsible for ensuring all weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual functions and filings are performed accurately and timely.

Primary Objectives of the Payroll Supervisor:

• Ensure that all payrolls are completed as scheduled and help the team where needed.
• Inputs changes to overtime or bonus payments or calculations
• Assists in the preparation and distribution of payroll-related summaries.
• Oversee Payroll projects and implementations, acting as the payroll representative for initiatives that have a payroll component.
• Assist in payroll calculations, deductions, insurance coverage, wage garnishments, tax filings, and child support.
• Address payroll related queries and requests.
• Analyze payroll problems and provide appropriate resolutions.
• Participate in performance reviews, PTO approval and progressive discipline.
• Monitor the work of a team of payroll associates and specialists that input payroll data and prepare payroll checks.
• Develop best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy of payroll processes.
• Review and recommend improvements to existing payroll procedures.
• Prepare client/ wage summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leaves, retirement savings and benefits.
• Work with other departments to process current year and prior year voids.
• Follow and enforce federal, state and local laws related to payroll.

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES must have the following:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration
• 3-5 years of Payroll Experience
• 2 years of Management experience
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint/Word/Excel/Outlook)
• Strong analytical and project management skills
• Knowledge of compensation, wage structure, and
  business administration
• Understand legal perspective on wages, pay equity,
  and benefits

IDEAL CANDIDATES also have the following:

• Familiarity with Union Contracts
• Payroll experience in a manufacturing setting
• Familiarity with multiple tax jurisdictions
• Ceridian (or other third party) experience
