Responsibilities and Duties:
- Process accurate payroll records:
- by ensuring all adjustments on pay rates and employee status changes are entered,
- calculating accurate amounts for fringe benefits, overtime, leaves, other deductions (i.e. 401K, garnishments etc.)
- verify information received from the field to ensure accuracy
- Compile certified payroll reports
- Researches and resolves payroll issues or discrepancies in a timely manner
- File monthly, quarterly, annual taxes & reports
- Assist with annual accounting audit
- Answer and manage incoming phone and email inquiries
- Monitor and maintain office supplies inventory
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED certificate required.
- 3-5 years of Construction payroll and certified payroll experience preferred.
- Experience in Vista Viewpoint and/or JAMIS.
- Must have excellent proficiency on spreadsheet and word processing applications, i.e. Word and Excel.
- Possess a good understanding of accounting principles and GL entries as it pertains to payroll.
- Knowledge of all federal and state laws concerning payroll, overtime, and taxes.
