Full Job Description
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE:
· Maintain control of payroll records and personnel related matters with strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive information
· Oversee the accurate and timely preparation, input, analysis and processing of weekly multi-state payroll data, while ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
· Coordinate payroll entry and review with divisions in separate locations
· Must ensure compliance with employees covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement
· Process special payrolls, off-cycle requests, union processes, vacation processing, Time Off/PTO reports and processes, garnishments, direct deposit and pay card setups
· Determine Payroll liabilities by collecting and verifying data; prepare and remit federal and state tax payments in a timely manner
· Support all internal and external audits related to payroll
· Complete verifications of employment
· Reporting Worker’s Compensation to insurance carrier
· Perform other tasks as requested by management
· Partner with the accounting team to resolve discrepancies in the accrued payroll GL
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
· In-house payroll processing experience is required
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and/or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
· Construction experience, highly-desired
· Software ECMS or similar ERP required, experience with Heavy Job/HCSS products is highly desired
· G/L experience a plus
· Prevailing Wage experience is required
· Familiarity with job costing
· Highly analytical with a strong working knowledge of general payroll protocols, accounting principles and Federal, State and local regulations
· Proficient with MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook)
· MS Excel skills: Formulas, Pivot tables, VLoookup functions, etc.
· Self-directed and able to work well and communicate effectively in a team environment
· Ability to adapt to conflicting deadlines and priorities established by company demands
· Willingness for on-going training as it relates to payroll laws and regulations in various states
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent time management skills
· Flexible, proactive, responsible and detail-oriented individual
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

Education:
· Associate's degree (Preferred)
· High School diploma (required)
Experience:
· Payroll: 2 years (Preferred, in-house payroll required)
· Accounting: 1 year (Preferred)
· Certified Payroll Reporting
· Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) (highly-desired)
